West Kentucky AgBioworks Announces Farmer Network Informational Meetings

The West Kentucky AgBioworks™ Initiative, based at the Regional Business and Innovation Center at Murray State University, is part of a regional, multi-state network focused on
developing businesses to commercialize bioengery crops and biomass. West Kentucky AgBioworks™ has relationships with leading companies developing genetics, equipment, and technology providers, and is leveraging these activities into ongoing field trials, technology adoption, and development of farmer/forester based businesses.

A regional Farmer Network is now being developed to serve as an entry point for introducing new crops and technology to the region’s farmers and as a springboard for the formation of new farmer cooperatives and the rural processing ventures. Funding has been secured to develop a West Kentucky farmer network through the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund.
